Protecting our Customers - Facebook Hack Attempt example

09 April 2010 at 09:30

We received a notification this morning regarding a new example Facebook hack attempt, this time via e-mail.

We know that quite a few of you use Facebook, so we'd like to give you advance warning to help you deal with any attempts to access your account through fradulent measures.

View an example of a new Facebook hack attempt e-mail.

If you receive an e-mail that looks the same as this one, delete it immediately. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!

Essentially, the normal rules of e-mail apply though. Never open attachments from people you don't know, and be extremely wary of opening attachments from people that you do know. Assume the worst, and always make sure that your virus scanner is running when opening e-mails.

We hope this helps!
